Trinity Metro serves Tarrant County, which includes the city of Fort Worth, Texas.  The agency’s services extend to neighboring communities and areas within Tarrant County, ensuring that residents have access to public transit options for their daily commutes, travel to airports and other transportation needs.

In January of 2018, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority Board of Directors voted to rebrand the agency to doing business as “Trinity Metro” and to broaden the agency’s community purpose from bus-based transportation toward a fully multimodal system incorporating buses, rail, vanpool, trolleys, bike sharing and on-demand mobility using systems that incorporate the latest technologies in order to meet the changing needs of one of America’s fastest-growing major cities.  Trinity Metro’s ridership for FY2023 totaled 6,799,220 and FY2024 (Oct, Nov, Dec) so far is 2,096,074.

Under the general direction of the General Manager, the Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the overall efficient operations of Trinity Metro’s fleet. This will include the supervision of maintenance employees and the repair and maintenance of the bus, paratransit and staff vehicle fleet, as well as ensuring that the work environment is safety-focused. The incumbent will employ creative and strategic planning in the development of bus and automotive fleet maintenance programs, resources, and activities; manage Maintenance Department activities that provide safe, clean, and reliable vehicles; and perform managerial and supervisory work. The incumbent will be responsible for improving fleet reliability, supervising union and non-union personnel, planning and administering the budget, planning maintenance schedules, and ensuring the safety of maintenance operations. The incumbent will be allowed considerable discretion in supporting Trinity Metro’s operational mission.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (or a closely related field) from an accredited four-year college or university. (Additional course work or training in OEM — Original Equipment Manufacturer — training is preferred.) Additionally, the position requires four years of progressively responsible experience in the transit, equipment management, or repair industries (including vehicle maintenance and repair work, lead man or specialist work, and supervisory and administrative work). Any combination of experience, training, and/or education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will substitute for the required education. Please refer to the Job Description for additional requirements.
