San Gabriel Transit is looking to fill the position of Operations Manager at our El Monte, California location. This location operates the Eastern Region Access paratransit service. The successful candidate will monitor and direct the daily operation to ensure compliance with the transportation contract and within company policies and procedures. He/she will work with other department managers to monitor daily operational needs, customer service, safety performance, and efficient service delivery.

Through the supervision and directing of supervisory staff, the Operations Manager is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Safety – Safety’s 1st for San Gabriel Transit’s customers, employees, and business partners.

  • Employees – Employees are San Gabriel Transit’s most valuable resources and are to be treated with mutual respect and provided opportunities for professional development

  • Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.

  • Integrity – We rely on the professional ethics and honesty of every San Gabriel Transit employee

  • Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.

  • Monitor Taxi- Subcontractor for performance and compliance.

  • Effectively manage on-time performance and driver availability.

  • Monitor ADA trips for compliance.

  • Monitor scheduling supervisors to ensure compliance with daily tasks.

  • Prepare monthly reports and process billing invoices for processing.

  • Identify, select, train, and develop location staff.

  • Participate and initiate frequent communication with location staff and support team members.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must have one (3) to three (5) years of management experience in a similar operation and environment. The successful candidate will have experience in scheduling and personnel management. He/she must be able to work independently and have strong written and verbal skills. He/she will immediately gain a thorough knowledge of contractual obligations and company policy to ensure that the drivers, supervisors, and office staff activities are consistent and within contractual requirements, company policies, and regulatory laws.
  • Experience managing fast-paced environments.

  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
