The City of DeKalb is seeking a full-time Transit Manager to join our team. The Transit Manager performs a variety of professional, technical, management, and administrative duties in support of the urban transit program. This position promotes best practices, creates, and sustains policies and procedures, and oversees all transit development and operations. The Transit Manager must consistently demonstrate the ability to work with the prime governmental funders to resolve differences and produce a system that meets the requirements and expectations of the funding bodies.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in transportation, planning, business, public administration, or closely related field preferred. Continued education or professional development coursework in related field desired. Prior experience in a comparable municipal, county, regional, non-profit, or public transit environment preferred. Direct Supervisory experience required.

The starting salary for the position is $101,500 +/- commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.
