Position Overview
The Regional Vice President leads the design, development, and execution of transit business strategies across a region. Roles entail planning to direct, coordinate, and oversee operational activities at multiple locations ensuring development and implementation of efficient, safe operations and cost-effective transit modes to meet current and future growth needs of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Coach, mentor and develop multiple General Managers within a region.

  • Develop and communicates the strategic business plan and direction for the transit region with the COO approval.

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and safety systems.

  • Collaborates with other region(s) and departments to carry out organizational goals and objectives.

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and procedures to improve and streamline organizational operations.

  • Ensures that regional decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, talent development, training, transit operations, safety systems and maintenance facilities are in line with the business plan and vision of the organization and of the clients they support.

  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.

  • Collaborate with Regional Safety Directors and the Senior Vice President of Safety to lead, direct, and develop safety teams in compliance with Federal Transit Administration guidelines to accomplish annual and periodic safety goals and initiatives, while embodying and using RATP Dev core values.

  • Responsible for collaboration with Regional Safety Directors and the Senior Vice President of Safety to maintain and improve safety performance in all areas of transit operations through effective training as well as risk identification and mitigation

  • Responsible for providing support to the business development team to identify business leads, create technical proposals and presentations, interview for new business opportunities and transition into new contracts.

  • Collaborates with General Managers to enhance, expand and develop transportation-related relationships

  • Develops new relationships and continually maintains and strengthens current relationships for strong business retention

  • Ensures that increased revenue, managed expenses, and customer satisfaction is maximized by maintaining the highest level of service standards and initiatives that are aligned with the expectations of our various clients

  • Along with support from designated Financial Planning and Analysis Regional Managers, Regional Vice Presidents are responsible for the support of General Managers during the annual budget preparation and presentation process.

  • Understand, implement, and deliver on all requirements outlined within the contractual agreements between RATP Dev and our clients

  • Assist in the negotiation of contractual amendments as needed.

  • With the support of the Chief Sourcing Officer, Regional Vice Presidents are responsible for supporting General Managers and our clients in the sourcing of materials, supplies, equipment and rolling stock if necessary.

  • Along with support from their designated Human Resources Field Manager, Regional Vice Presidents work closely with General Managers to support their human resource needs at their locations.

  • Attend tradeshows and/or industry related events to build on existing relationships and develop new ones. Must have experience in public transit related associations.

  • Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation of contracts in the region.

  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.

  • Additional related duties as assigned

  • General Managers for a number of transit bus locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the public transportation industry.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, transit, transportation, multi-site or other industry-related field required;

  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.

Travel Requirements:
>80% Travel is required.
