Overview
The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools and fun seekers to entertainment, shopping areas and restaurants. We provide mobility to residents of the city as well as tourists, taking them to and from their hotels to historical neighborhoods and countless attractions. RTA's system includes five streetcar lines, 34 bus routes, two ferry routes and paratransit services. Our passengers take more than 19 million rides every year.

JOB SUMMARY
Provide entry-level administrative support to multiple teams or departments for various programs and projects

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in performing administrative and organizational analysis and participate in projects, budgeting, and administration
  • Conducts research studies and collect data for management reports and programs
  • Responds to inquiries for information from staff, management, and the public
  • Troubleshoots software and basic hardware problems
  • Prepares reports and correspondence
  • Maintains and updates reference and procedural materials and computer databases
  • Assists in developing policies and procedures
  • Experience supporting multiple teams in an office environment, including creating memos for multi-disciplinary groups and/or tracking/maintaining multi-dimensional budgets
  • Experience utilizing financial information systems related software
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling meetings with staff, consultants, and external partners

Qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field

OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties

EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of relevant experience performing basic or entry-level budgeting and/or administrative work

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS
A valid Louisiana Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions

Must provide proof of being fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine before start date.

Must submit to criminal background check, the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Normal office environment.
