The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools and fun seekers to entertainment, shopping areas and restaurants. We provide mobility to residents of the city as well as tourists, taking them to and from their hotels to historical neighborhoods and countless attractions. RTA’s system includes five streetcar lines, 34 bus routes, two ferry routes and paratransit services. Our passengers take more than 19 million rides every year.

JOB SUMMARY
To develop, manage, and administer all aspects of a project and ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget within the Information Technology Department.

  • Manages entire application system development life cycle or network infrastructure life cycle
  • Designs, runs, and manages continuous integration environments for build, automation and release management
  • Develops and maintains key agency Enterprise Application and Infrastructure products
  • Performs risk assessments, and develops and implements mitigation plans
  • Defines, implements, documents and performs tests on security controls in complex applications and infrastructure environments
  • Maintains the sensitivity and confidentiality of data and systems architecture environment
  • Implements innovative solutions utilizing emerging technologies
  • Manages various aspects of a project which may include finances, research, design, technical support, schedules, budget compliance, planning, and agency reporting
  • Oversees the development of project specifications and requirement
  • Manages a project’s scheduling, prioritization of work, budget development, monitoring, planning, and reporting
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets contract specifications and scope of work documents of a project to ensure conformance with requirements, regulations, codes, policies, procedures and plans
  • Reviews, analyzes, and monitors actual project performance to ensure conformance with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Attends progress meetings with members of the project team to report on status
  • Identifies problems and recommends resolutions to budget, cost, and schedule-related activities
  • Prepares reports for management
  • Participates in project outreach
  • Coordinates with various stakeholders
  • Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all subordinate employees
  • Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of RTA are carried out

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business, Planning, Public Administration or a related field

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years recent supervisory-level experience in project management, project funding and financing, or project delivery

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS
  • Project Management Professional Certification preferred
  • A valid Louisiana Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Must submit to criminal background check, the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.
