SUMMARY:
Palm Tran is looking for a Paint & Body Specialist with the knowledge and capability of repairing vehicles involved in major and minor collisions, preparing and painting of transit buses and support vehicles. The duties include but are not limited to; accurate damage assessment and development of necessary parts and cost estimate; structural frame repair, work with the various required materials in the fabrication of vehicle body parts; prepare surfaces for painting; and mix, blend and apply paint and finishes. Interior component repair and replacement including sub-floors, flooring, seating, walls and trim.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or an equivalent recognized certification (GED). Five (5) years of complete automotive collision repair and refinishing; or two (2) years of complete automotive collision repair and refinishing on transit buses; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with “P” (passenger) endorsement. Must be able to be fit tested for respirator. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. Must pass a DOT physical examination and random drug tests.
PREFERENCES:
Heavy-duty and/or diesel vehicle mechanical experience including electrical systems, air conditioning and public transportation.
