Job Summary:

Point person for all IT/transit software technical support for our Prince George's County location (fixed route bus operations contract). Responsible for data management and information analysis that supports transit operations and dispatch functions. This position will have one direct report.

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary:

· Gather and validate all required appropriate information needed for issue resolution.

· Correct user issues including installing and upgrading software and configuring systems and applications.

· Recognize when issues should be escalated to an appropriately experienced technician. + activate and manage technical support provided by external technology suppliers and contractors when necessary, distribute to end users and/or apply found solutions

· Record, track, and document the problem-solving process to create a knowledge base for future issue resolution.

· Continuous learning of software upgrades, drivers, knowledge bases, and "frequently asked questions" resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.

· Act as Admin-level user of appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.

· Collect operational and maintenance data (e.g. CAD/AVL data, scheduling data, maintenance reports, safety records, etc.)

· Create contractual reports intended for the client/PTA

· Administer, maintain, and manage the IMS

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills:

· Two (2) year college degree in computer science or information technology systems required.

· Must be able to troubleshoot technology related issues with hardware and software.

· Must have an understanding of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), TAP, Wi-Fi, cellular connection

· Must have Networking experience

· Preferred experience with bus cameras, emergency radios, GPS/AVL technology, Clever CAD and SmartDrive.

· Knowledge of basic computer hardware and HP printers.

· Experience with desktop operating systems, especially Windows 10, Avaya Telecom system

· Extensive application experience and ability to troubleshoot MS Office Suite - version 2003/2007/2010. + Office 365

· Exceptional written and oral communication skills; strong documentation skills.

· Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus listening and questioning skills. Ability to explain solutions to non-technical users in a concise manner.

· Must be goal-oriented with the ability to quickly react to changing business demands, deadlines, and demanding hours in a fast-paced environment.

· Work in a matrix environment with various stakeholders

· Ability to collect quotes and proposals from vendors and consultants and provide technical advice for decision-makers/stakeholders

· Microsoft certifications desirable
