Easton Coach Company is headquartered in Easton, Pennsylvania, with numerous additional operations throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 2013 we were Metro magazine’s seventh largest private US bus company specializing in both paratransit and motorcoach services for over 25 years.

We are seeking a qualified Safety Manager to join our Lancaster operation.

Minimum requirements are:
  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Transportation management experience with paratransit company preferred

  • Transportation safety experience (Smith System and DriveCam experience a plus)

  • Driver License with safe record required

  • Effective coaching and mentoring abilities

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to new and current vehicle operators

  • Ensures the curriculum is responsive to any trends in regard to road observations, accidents, incidents and customer complaints

  • Establishes and implements departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures

  • Conducts and oversees required road evaluations on each driver as well as develops and coordinates safety meetings for the location

  • Conducts new hire orientation and initial driver training, including both classroom and on-road instruction

  • Provides appropriate road training and observation, as required, to ensure drivers’ adherence to policy and training procedures

  • Manages safety and training records and files and appropriately documents accidents, incidents and other events

  • Administers driver discipline, as appropriate, and properly documents accidents, incidents and other events necessitating such discipline, as well as the resulting actions taken

  • Responsible for accident investigations and post-accident recourse, to include preventability determination, retraining and reporting, as well as any safety related communications

  • Directs investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints

  • Collaborates with other managers and staff members to enforce policies and procedures

  • Promotes safe work activities by participating in safety audits, attending company safety meetings and meeting with individual employees
