Reporting directly to the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy General Manager, Innovation & Technology will provide a proactive, dynamic, responsive, collaborative and forward-thinking vision, leadership and management of technology systems and services to support the mission and goals of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. The Deputy General Manager, Innovation and Technology is responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing and promoting GCRTA’s vision for innovation and technology, with a focus on innovative strategies for user experience, rider/community experience, systems performance and agility, security, business intelligence, content management, transit infrastructure funding, personalized learning and work environments, and advancing diverse mobility solutions. Critical to the success of the GCRTA will be the ability to anticipate future technology needs and identify and adopt new processes and infrastructure necessary to provide superb customer service to the community.

The Deputy General Manager, Innovation and Technology will serve as the liaison for the Information Technology Ad Hoc Committee Chair. This position also has leadership and oversight for supervising staff, developing and managing technology budgets (capital and operating), establishing innovation and technology policies, and proposing innovation and technology solutions that support the curricular, administrative, and infrastructure needs of GCRTA.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and effective communicator with experience engaging executives, boards of directors, and internal staff and garnering buy-in for the Authority’s technology advancement. He or she will be capable of meeting project goals and objectives under budgetary and time constraints and have a strong understanding of capital processes. This person must be an innovative, visionary and transformative leader capable of evaluating and improving current agency technology systems and services by creating and executing a 5-10 year strategic technology advancement plan.

Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT management, Computer Information Systems, Network Administration, or a related field required. A Master’s degree preferred. Additionally, candidates must have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience leading and/or managing core IT functions for a complex organizations. Public transit experience/knowledge preferred, but not required.
