POSITION SUMMARY
Ensures that schedules are accurately created and maintained in a cost effective and efficient manner. Provides oversight for the production and maintenance of bus and rail printed service schedules. Supervises and coordinates the activities and personnel of the Scheduling Branch. Stays abreast on latest technology, trends and procedures to ensure the Authority provides safe, reliable and innovative services to the meet the needs of a growing service area. Continual coordination with Operations and Amalgamated Transit Union regarding production of operator work assignments for mark-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises and instructs staff on latest scheduling software and procedures.

• Produces operator run assignments and coordinates with Operations personnel for successful uploads into Trapeze Teledriver system.

• Coordinates network system functions with the Office of Information Technology.

• Maintains pertinent information related to bus and rail vehicles, manpower requirements and scheduled miles and hours for the production of reports.

• Ability to apply advanced MS Excel functions including time calculations.

• Produces and distributes manpower and vehicle requirements per mark-up (tri-annually) or as requested.

• Attends public hearings and provides support for Service Planning & Scheduling Outreach.

• Attends community or civic meetings as needed.

• Performs other scheduling duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in transit or urban planning, business administration or a related field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience scheduling bus and/or rail service for urban transit operations. Two years of supervisory experience required. Knowledge of automated scheduling and run cutting systems required. In lieu of degree, directly related scheduling experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Salary Range: $60,778 - $91,168
