RAIL SIGNAL & COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN: Salary: $29.95 - $42.79 Hourly - 5% & 7.5% premium for Swing/Grave
Performs maintenance on railway signal and communications equipment such as motorized switch machines, vital relays, microprocessor controlled interlockings, programmable logic controllers, fiber optic links, failsafe railroad crossing equipment, stand-alone computers, power supplies and associated 700 MHz and 800 MHz communications equipment and handsets.
Minimum Qualifications: Seeking 3 years performing journey level work in railway signaling & communications.
LINK LIGHT RAIL Metro Transit's Rail Division is responsible for operating and maintaining Link Light Rail service on a 20.4 mile route from the Angle Lake Station south of Sea-Tac Airport to the University of Washington Station, expanding to Northgate in 2021. Plans and/or construction are underway extending the system to the north, east, south, and west. Expansion over the next five years alone will include the addition of more than 20 stations and 40 miles of light rail track. The light rail line is a critical part of the region's transportation network and normally carries more than 79,000 weekday daily riders.
