The City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced safety systems manager for the nation’s first driverless metro system.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will oversee multimodal agency safety plans including safety management systems, programs, and procedures as they relate to employee safety and health, and the operational, maintenance, and industrial aspects of safety. The position oversees hazard identification, reporting, mitigation and corrective action plans; responsible for analyzing situations, identifying problems, recommending practical solutions, and evaluating outcomes; responsible for quality assurance measures and support necessary to monitor, review and analyze the performance of the operations and maintenance services Contractor to ensure a safe, reliable, and customer experience driven rail service with regard to safety systems.
REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelors degree in public administration, occupational safety and health, transportation or a related field and five years of experience performing safety management and hazard analysis work as a primary function in a large public or private transportation organization.
