The Regional Director, Business Development will work closely with Operations, Marketing and the Vice President of Business Development (VP) to oversee the growth of profitable new business within their assigned region, and to develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with market stakeholders. The Regional Director, Business Development will be responsible for executing a strategic approach to new client sales and initiating, developing, and closing those sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify new business opportunities by analyzing current and potential markets, competitor's share, strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share

  • Execute all facets of the role in conjunction with use of the Salesforce platform and MTM Transit sales playbooks and sales plan.

  • Actively prospect for new business within their region that meets the current strategic focus for target clients as defined by the VP

    vAchieve regional sales goals as defined by VP on a annual basis

  • Contribute information to sales strategies by evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive products; analyzing and relaying customer reaction

Minimum Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred

  • 2+ years of transportation company experience relatable to sales, corporate role of account management experience, or equivalent transportation industry experience (i.e. Agency GM)

  • Experience selling technology based products to transit authorities a bonus

  • Experience with long sales cycles associated to regional government transit procurements within a RFP process a plus

  • Experience in consultative selling a plus

  • Proven ability to overcome price and sell on quality a plus

  • Proven experience meeting new sales goals a plus

  • Experience using CRM/Salesforce a plus

  • Will require local and overnight travel, extensive at certain periods
