ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages organizational operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies.

  • Serves as MTM EEO Officer

  • Determines and implements short and long term strategies needed to support goals and plans for growth and profit.

  • Provide direction to departments through goals and objectives and programs consistent with the goals set by the CEO and Board of Directors.

  • Implements special projects and TN Safety Oversight.

  • Manages departments to ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures and standards. Oversees, through department management staff, the delivery of services for operations and works with key staff to identify and resolve problems.

  • Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned personnel. Provides or coordinates management staff training. Works with employees by coaching to correct deficiencies. Implements discipline and recommends termination when necessary.

  • Supervises security at all properties and in all divisions and makes recommendations for proper security staffing. Oversees all security personnel in-house as well as contracted security service.

  • Designates authority in the procurement and contracting process for security bids.

  • Approves budget line items for the System Safety Program.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Construction Management or related area. Overall experience may be considered in lieu of advanced education.

Other: Minimum 8 - 10 years of progressively responsible experience in administration, including a minimum of 5 years of management responsibility in a transit agency. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to fleet management. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of fleet management. Must possess effective oral and written skills and be experienced in labor/union matters. Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be proficient with a personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Must have valid driver license.

Environment: Frequent sitting but will require standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching,kneeling, pushing and pulling depending on the work task. May be required to lift, push or move up to 20 lbs. Will need to be able to reach with hands and arms and fingers,handle or feel. The job requires normal visual acuity (close, distance and color vision as well as peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus). Must have the use of sensory skills (talk and hear) to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using a telephone, personal contact or written means of communication. Physical capability to use and operate office related equipment such as, but not limited to, computer, calculator, copier and fax machine.
