Annual Salary Range: $72,528 - $145,932
The City and County of Honolulu is seeking an experienced Traction Power Compliance Officer, for the nation's first driverless metro system.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position provides leadership and oversight for the traction electrification systems for the metro. Traction electrification includes incoming AC utility feeds and medium voltage AC power distribution, DC traction power substations, contact rail, or third rail, and automated monitoring and control systems; responsible for the oversight of the operation and maintenance of the traction electrification systems including the monitoring and direct observation of inspections, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, operation, alteration, and repair; oversight of utility billing including any disputes; promotion of the efficient use and conservation of electrical energy and water; performance of difficult and complex needs analyses related to energy and water usage; data and fiscal analyses including electrification rate analyses; development and implementation of energy saving strategies and programs; establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with Contractors; and demonstrating a commitment to safety that guides all aspects of work through consistent and professional behaviors in performance of the essential duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty and five years of electrification systems experience in a rail or transit environment which included working with consultants and contractors.
