This position is responsible for the coordination and integration of programs and associated projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. This is accomplished by assisting and participating in planning, developing, organizing, and facilitating district-wide projects; assisting with the agency's strategic planning initiative and participating in special projects of strategic importance to SacRT, which may be internally focused with cross-functional impact, or externally focused involving community groups and stakeholders; monitoring the development and implementation of key project objectives and resulting process improvements within SacRT. In collaboration with internal subject matter experts and department managers, facilitates the generation and analysis of performance metrics and providing recommendations for performance improvements and identifies issues that have short- and long-term impact on SacRT.

  • Serves as project manager for a variety of special projects and facilitates project activities. Prepares and presents project reports, data, recommendations, and alternatives to project stakeholders.

  • Identifies potential issues and briefs the Executive Management Team (EMT) on issues and potential resolutions. Monitors the alignment of project vision, goals, and objectives to SacRT's mission, vision and strategic priorities.

  • Represents the interests and positions of SacRT in a wide range of strategic projects intended to ensure SacRT is continuously improving its community presence, customer service, and employee programs.

  • Performs administrative duties related to strategic projects including monitoring operating and capital project budgets, managing contracts, implementing activities related to the strategic planning process, creating and updating district-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitoring policy adherence.

  • Collaborates to discover and deliver new innovative mobility solutions that enhance the customer experience.

  • Helps in the creation and management of SacRT's system-wide performance dashboard and provides regular performance reports to SacRT's management team.

  • Recommends SacRT-wide process improvement initiatives based on assessment of projects and resulting needs and resources. Confers with SacRT management regarding operational and support service activities and programs.

  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of communications and public relations strategies, programs, and activities that support the district's initiatives.

  • Periodically serves as SacRT's liaison to community members, advocacy groups and elected officials in promoting SacRT projects and advocating for funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. SacRT reserves the right to determine the equivalences of education and experience.

Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of project management, data analysis, community/government relations work or a related field. Public transit experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
None.
