Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District is seeking an Analyst Planner to join our team.
The Analyst Planner ensures efficiency and timeliness of service through the analysis of MTD’s bus routes and schedules, reports statistics to the National Transit Database (NTD) pertaining to operation, helps manages MTD’s Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Locator (CAD/AVL) planning database, and interprets data for internal and external presentations.
Responsibilities
Work Hours
Work shifts vary from day to night, as needed. MTD operates seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, and this position may require some work outside of traditional business hours.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements
A combination of education, training, and experience is necessary for this position. Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a work setting, preferably a planning or transportation organization is preferred.
Other Information
Hold, or obtain within 6 months of hire, a CDL with passenger endorsement.

Responsibilities
- Create maps using ArcGIS software.
- Prepare presentations of ridership data, service analysis, and special projects.
- Help develop and monitor service standards, KPIs and other District goals.
- Communicates daily with the Planning Manager, Service Planner, MTD Supervisors, Operators, and Trainers about a variety of issues including service-related issues and analyses, projects and service monitoring.
- Analyze self-collected and provided data from various sources.
- Work closely with MTD Technology Services staff to ensure software functionality on vehicles and communicate with Supervisors and Operators if on-route actions are needed.
- Work with the Planning and Customer Service teams for appropriate outreach opportunities.
- Work with the Planning Manager and Service Planner to help provide appropriate support.
