Company: Transdev Services Inc.
Location: Garden City, New York
Job Status: Full-time
Job ID: 117311

Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE Bus) is the public transit network in Nassau County, NY. One of the largest, most productive suburban systems in the country, we record 85,000 average weekday boardings across Nassau, Queens and Suffolk counties. Since 2012, NICE has operated as a public-private partnership between Nassau County and Transdev Services, Inc., the largest private operator of passenger transit in North America. Based in Garden City, NICE’s unique model enables us to leverage the speed, ingenuity and talent of the private sector to plan, schedule and deliver safe, reliable public transit service to the riders and communities we serve.

In a few short years, NICE’s Planning & Scheduling team has established itself as a dynamic force driving the industry forward. We combine a strong foundation of planning principles and transit operations knowledge with passion and drive to engineer superior transport products and services.

Our team’s recent accomplishments include:
  • 1st U.S. transit agency to adopt Optibus, a cloud-based, next generation schedule optimization software

  • Launched Great Neck Buzz, an innovative Microtransit demonstration project, in less than 8 months

We expect to continue blazing a trail ahead while remaining focused on essentials of transit operations planning, such as ensuring scheduled service matches demand, maintaining sufficient running time for our Operators, and providing appropriately spaced bus stops. The Planning and Scheduling team is also collaborating on exciting projects such as partnering with Nassau County to connect the Nassau Hub development to the transit network; working with the MTA to launch its highly anticipated next fare-payment system; and connecting with global Transdev teams to study corridor and system service redesigns.

As a Senior Transit Planner / Scheduler, you will play a central role on our team.
