Do you have a commitment to sustainability, equity and social justice? Are you seeking a fulfilling career with the organization named by APTA as the Best Large Transit System in North America (2018)?

King County Metro serves the fastest-growing transit market in the nation, and we are leading the industry by being an early adopter of a battery-electric bus fleet. We have committed to building a 100% zero-emission fleet powered by renewable energy by 2040, while also expanding our fleet by more than 600 buses. Currently, our bus fleet includes approximately 1,400 hybrid-diesels, 174 trolleys, and 11 battery electric buses with capabilities for fast charging on route. We also are testing 10 extended-range battery electric buses toward a procurement of 120 in 2020.

Metro is seeking a Transit Superintendent for Vehicle Procurement. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated people leader with experience managing, supervising and directing all phases of fleet procurement, audit, and compliance operations involved in the purchase and acquisition of transit revenue and non-revenue vehicles.

Now is an exciting time to work at King County Metro Transit. We serve the fastest growing transit market in the nation, enjoy a 93% customer satisfaction rate, and are creating an array of innovative mobility services for our riders. We are also building a zero-emission bus fleet and operating our region's light-rail system, which will expand three-fold in the next six years.

Commitment to Equity & Social Justice

The diverse experiences and perspectives of our employees help us serve King County residents in an equitable and culturally responsive way. We are pioneering income-based fares to help make our services affordable for everyone. We are actively developing the systems and standards necessary to achieve better outcomes for all of our residents and our employees, while at the same time, changing the way government delivers service by actively engaging the people we serve in our planning processes. Through innovations like these Metro has won national recognition as a model of excellence.
