Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is the SF North Bay's commuter rail transit system. Under direction of the Manager of Vehicle Maintenance, the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a rail vehicle maintenance operation. This is done by coordinating, supervising and evaluating the activities of the vehicle maintenance staff. The Supervisor will provide hands on supervision of the vehicle maintenance technician staff. This position will be responsible for work activities primarily on the Swing and Grave shifts. Must have availability to work weekends and holidays to ensure safe and efficient transportation to the public. This position is a working supervisor position with supervisory and limited budgetary responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent.

• Minimum five years’ experience, with two years in a supervisory capacity, as a vehicle maintenance mechanic/technician in a rail vehicle maintenance environment.

Base hourly wage: $58.13 - $72.66 per hour.
