Responsibilities of a Training Manager
  • Assists Director of Training and Development in the development of a strategic approach to learning and development that includes training, on-boarding, development and succession planning.

  • Assists in the design and implementation of the performance & development process and coordination with on-going training modules.

  • Assists in the development, delivery and on-going administration of First Student eLearning programs on the LMS (learning management system) to identify, train, on-board, and develop location staff and managers and area general managers. .

  • Assists in the evaluation of effectiveness of training and development programs that includes but is not limited to assessing the methods, process and techniques being used - to ensure maximum benefit/return to the organization.

  • Assists in designing and implementation of a succession planning process for use at the staff, location manager and area general manager levels.

  • Assists in driving First Group vision and values via the creation and execution of training and development programs. Supports organizational diversity initiatives to ensure our leadership team reflects the communities in which we operate.

  • Provides support to individual managers by developing material and delivering training programs as needed. Supports the performance management and review process for supervisors and employees.

  • Provides support for regional and corporate-driven training events as requested.


What we would like you to possess:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent); preferably in Training and Development or equivalent.

  • The following certifications: First Aid CPR, Third Party DMV Examiner in California, TSI, and Smith System Instructor

  • Five to eight years in leadership role, demonstrating ability to influence, coach and inspire individuals to achieve departmental and individual performance goals.

  • Requires experience designing management development and succession planning programs.

  • Basic knowledge and awareness of federal and state rules and regulations regarding various human resources, safety, environmental concerns, etc.
