The Engineer of Emerging Technologies will work directly with internal departments including Procurement, Safety, Environmental Management, IT, Maintenance, and Engineering as well as exterior vendors on technical issues, new designs, including all major original equipment manufacturers, tier-one-two-three supply base for FirstGroup America.

The Engineer will represent FirstGroup and have an active role in various local, state and federal governmental affairs including active participation in various committees and sub committees of autonomous vehicle and bus related topics. The person will apply highly specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices to develop and support activities in the area of electrical & electronics engineering.

Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering required

• Previous work in autonomous vehicle, rail vehicles, or system controls field highly desired.

• Understanding of electrical, computer, or software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

• Exceptional leadership, customer relations, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

• Ability to analyze schematics and professional engineering drawings

• Committed to safety

• Holds a valid driver’s license

• Ability to work safely in a shop floor environment and maintenance facilities, vehicles, and airports

• Must be able to physically inspect all aspects of vehicles and facilities in all weather conditions.

• Travel required based on business need and work assignment.
