City & County of Honolulu - Department of Transportation Services is seeking an experienced Safety & Security Management professional to oversee rail transit assets & operations. See below for additional information about the position and minimum education and experience requirements.

POSITION INFORMATION:
Under the general supervision of the Rail Branch Chief, administers, plans, directs, manages and oversees the safety and security of rail assets and operations. Develops and executes safety and security management plans, oversees and manages the execution of complex rail security and safety regulatory compliance projects; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; utilizes best practices in safety, security, environmental compliance, engineering, maintenance, project management, and asset management activities to ensure assigned assets efficiently support revenue service. Provides highly responsible, complex administrative and technical support; oversees contractors engaged to execute complex technical safety and security projects; accountable for accomplishing departmental goals and objectives and for furthering Department of Transportation Services' (DTS) goals and objectives within general policy guidelines.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major in planning, architecture, engineering, occupational safety and health or closely related field of study.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of professional experience at the fully independent level, in a transit environment involving primary responsibility for the development, implementation, administration, contractor oversight, and promotion of safety and security activities, of which one year shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
