Job Purpose
To successfully manage the execution of the STAR program across workstreams – Top10, Lighting Blitz, South Station, North Station, Back Bay, Interchanges and Station Refresh on the MBTA Commuter Rail network. The Project Manager should ensure quality of deliverables, deliver all lifecycle stages within budget, while also ensuring full engagement with all key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provision of a project manager to manage the implementation of STAR program on the Commuter Rail network.

  • Lead weekly Steering Committees meetings with KCS steering committee members.

  • Lead working project meetings with vendors, stakeholders, clients, and others as necessary at the right cadence to ensure success.

  • Gain approvals for designs and implementation with local stakeholders (Keolis, MBTA, Station Managers, Local Authorities) as required.

  • Preparation of and updating throughout the project of an integrated project plan bringing together input from contractors, other specialist consultants and advisers, internal Keolis staff, the MBTA and any relevant third parties.

  • Track actions and inputs from contractors, other specialist consultants and advisers, internal Keolis staff, the MBTA and any relevant third parties to and transparently deliver the metrics and KPI’s to keep Steering Committee, Working Groups, Executive, Public Relations, Staff and all stakeholders informed.

  • Preparation and updating of an integrated project risk register.

  • Tracking project costs to ensure delivery within the authorized project budget and highlighting cost risks/issues to the ACEO.

  • Manage and recording project meetings and weekly / monthly project updates consistent with the Keolis project management framework.

  • Liaison with suppliers and contractors to co-ordinate delivery of project deliverables including administrative tasks coordinating invoices / payments with Keolis finance teams etc.

  • The project manager shall be embedded within the Keolis Commuter Services organization and shall report to the Keolis Commuter Services Assistant ACEO of Bridges and Buildings.

  • Maintain a constructive and positive rapport with all project Stakeholders.

  • Supervise and manage Project Coordinator ensuring growth, accountability and excellence of the individual who is assigned to project.


Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential
  • Results-oriented.

  • Member of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.

  • Relevant experience in the successful management of significant projects in the construction and/or rail industries.

  • Contract requirements environment awareness.

  • Project Safety Management course.

  • Strong communication skills, commercial focus and financially astute.

  • Employment authorization to work in the United States immediately.


Desirable
  • Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry.
