The City of Yakima Transit Division needs an experienced Assistant Manager with advanced supervisory and professional urban planning skills.

Under general direction, assists the Transit Manager in the supervisory and administrative work of the Transit Division. Position is responsible for the oversight, development, management and implementation of complex transit planning and reporting; grant functions including, but not limited to: grant research, grant writing/application, project management, compliance documents and administration of State and Federal grants; and personnel management/supervision. Serves as a liaison for the Transit Division and advisor to the manager, to facilitate and coordinate the accomplishment of the division goals. Work is performed utilizing independent judgement in conformance with the policies, goals and objectives of the Transit Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college or university, with major course work in transportation, planning, geography, civil engineering, or related field. Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional planning and administration experience including one year lead, supervisory or project management experience. Transit, and/or federal and/or state grant programs experience is preferred. Applicable Masters' degree may substitute for one (1) year general experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License.
