POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of our Sales Team this position is responsible for building strong customer relationships, developing and executing customer strategies for future bids or solicitations within the assigned sales region that support the company’s annual operating plan.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Conduct sales visits and regular effective communication with customers in the region to execute strategic objectives with the customer.

  • Conduct bus demonstrations, presentations and interviews to identify specific product solutions and customer needs.

  • Act as a consultant with the customer to develop best value technical and commercial specifications for transit vehicles

  • Assist in issue/solution resolution on customer issues

  • Support bid teams, customer program managers, service and aftermarket personnel in the execution of the agreed strategy.

  • Maintain and update a five year rolling forecast

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets and manage expenses within the allocated budget.

  • Represent the company as a member of transit associations within the region and attend conferences and tradeshows.

  • Provides input to the Marketing & Sales Support team on product positioning, features and benefits.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Post secondary education in business or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the transit industry

  • Five to ten years previous experience in a regional sales role within the transit industry or similar industry

  • Responsive and well organized

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM

  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and posses initiative to seek improvements

  • Ability to lift 40-70 pounds

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time at tradeshows and conferences

  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced team oriented environment
