Responsibilities and Specific Duties: Leads in identifying, establishing and maintaining business relationships to communicate and facilitate promotion and administration of METRO services. Promotes vanpool ridership through business development and outreach efforts to educate individuals, employers, communities and stakeholders on the value and benefits of vanpooling and related services. Customizes and delivers presentations to educate diverse audiences on benefits of vanpool and other available transportation programs through seminars, webinars, conference calls, lunch and learn sessions, etc. Conducts sales analysis on client organizations to document current state, willingness to change, employee culture, and opportunities for increasing ridership in client organizations. Performs research on transportation demand management to incorporate successful approaches to vanpool program. Assists with new staff orientation and training. Assists with coordination of field and administrative responsibilities of staff as directed by manager. Assists with development and updating of vanpool program documents and other materials. Prepares various periodic reports on activity and status of accounts, business development, new vanpool formations, route retention efforts, etc. Supports vanpool groups with orientation to vanpool billing, reporting, parking, driver safety training and operational processes, and assists with ridership, concerns or issues. Performs vanpool parking functions including responding to parking issues and tracking parking arrangements. Performs inside sales functions including generating and qualifying leads. Assists in managing social media, communications and market development activities. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communication/journalism, or a related field preferred. Minimum five (5) years directly related experience in business to business marketing/sales development. Experience promoting transportation demand management programs or commuter services preferred.
A valid Texas Driver's License (TDL) is required and must meet METRO's motor vehicle records requirements. Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Excellent customer service, public relations, marketing and sales skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with greater Houston region preferred.
