Lea+Elliott, Inc., established in 1973, is an employee-owned firm of consulting engineers, architects and planners that specialize in the planning, design, procurement and implementation of new transportation systems, as well as the upgrade/modification of existing transportation systems.

Location: Dulles, VA

Responsibilities:
The Field Test Engineer will be responsible for witnessing field and factory tests for transportation systems such as communications, traction power and train control.

Responsibilities will include at least the following:
  • Reviewing supplier proposal submittals, providing detailed comments, and presenting findings to owner

  • Participating in technical design review meetings to determine compliance and design issues

  • Reviewing test plans/inspection procedures.

  • Providing oversight of system factory test and installation, testing and integration on-sight


Desired Experience:
The Field Test Engineer will have a working knowledge of principles and practices of engineering as applied to rail transit systems.

Core competencies will include:
  • 6+ years of experience as a rail transit test or maintenance technician or engineer. Education may be substituted for some experience.

  • A high level of initiative and drive

  • Commitment to quality

  • Ability to work independently and as a project team member

  • Ability to work in the United States immediately


Education/Experience:
Associates Degree in Electronic Technology + 4 years of experience

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) + 2 years of experience

Professional Registration:
Engineer in Training (EIT) desired
