Purchasing Agent
Description of Work: This position solicits and awards a wide variety of capital, technical, and non-technical items and materials; and complex Requests for Proposals (RFP) for professional services. Identifies sources, develops solicitations, recommends and/or selects vendors, and initiates Purchase Orders and Contracts for equipment, materials, construction, and services as assigned. RTD is currently seeking a motivated individual with progressively responsible procurement experience.
This position requires:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a closely related field preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience with major responsibility for handling large purchase/contract actions including construction and professional services contracts
- A minimum of three years of experience working with applicable federal and state procurement laws.
- Proficiency with contracts, contract procedures, standard provisions, and contractual documents.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized purchasing systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
