Job Purpose
Working as part of an Operations & Maintenance improvement team, provide leadership in the subject of work planning and logistics, supporting clients through identifying improvements and managing change. In addition, develop work planning and logistics offerings in North America.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Provide expertise on the end to end process of; development, delivery and assurance for products and services against relevant Service Contract to drive an improving customer perception trend.

  2. Lead performance improvement initiatives, in the fields of; resource delivery, resource planning, work planning and access management.

  3. Work collaboratively with customers to develop and implement innovative strategies which meet business requirements, maximising benefits and efficiency opportunities and minimising risk.

  4. Provide rail best practices in the fields of work planning and logistics.

  5. Assist in the identification and on-boarding of talent required to support projects and bids.

  6. Support the business development team in technical writing for proposals and bids.

  7. Develop works planning and logistic offerings.


Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential
  • Ability to implement and maintain a safety culture using robust safety leadership skills.

  • Strong strategic focus with the ability to formulate and drive the delivery of strategic objectives.

  • Proven track record of outstanding team leadership.

  • Detailed knowledge of the planning standard.

  • Highly skilled senior relationship manager, experienced in managing end-to-end client, customer and supplier relationships.

  • Advanced influencing and negotiations skills with the ability to influence develop mutually beneficial relationships.

  • Advance knowledge of depot and facility management.

  • Lead on continuous improvement skills, i.e. LEAN/Six Sigma.

  • Detailed knowledge of rail plant, wagons, seasonal fleet and on-track machine management and operation.


Desirable
  • Member of a relevant professional institution.

  • Knowledge of railway operations, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Knowledge of rail plan and on-track machine management, maintenance and operation.
