Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Customer Solutions is responsible for defining the complete solutions lifecycle including market research, business development, solution definition, solution business case development, customer proposition and innovative solutions to tenders worldwide. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager of Customer Solutions focuses on the customer perspective – whether the transport operator, agency, city, or the end consumer. Previous experience in an urban and regional planning, transport planning, or agency operational role will bring additional value as the senior manager performs essential job duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Provides leadership in development of customer solutions and proposals including the management of estimating functions and input to parametric models Assists in the development of market intelligence for both local and global opportunities.

  • Provides expertise to translate requirements into products, services, and architecture designs.

  • Makes presentations to customer boards and executives.

  • Surveys the market for solutions, insight and to identify current and future customer requirements, market trends, sector direction, business opportunities, potential partners/acquisitions, and any competition offerings.

  • Acts as visionary and strategist for Solutions to propose strategy and initiatives that support business growth.

  • Develops business case for solutions from the Customers’ point of view.

  • Collaborates with project and service delivery managers and engineering resources to provision estimates, develop the overall business case and solution implementation plan.

  • Identifies, evaluates and recommends potential alliances, acquisitions, partners and suppliers. This will be undertaken in collaboration with Procurement, Contracts & Commercials, Legal, Engineering and also the Strategy and Business Development team.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in transportation planning, multimodal services, and Smart Cities

  • Consults with relevant internal/external parties regarding CTS service offerings. Builds and maintains repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents.

  • Works with the Global team to develop input to the R&D activities that will have an impact on solution expansion or efficiencies.

  • Assists with solution handover after proposal contract award and during the establishment of the Services organization.

  • Other assignments as appropriate


Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Smart Cities, Business Management, or related subject matter plus at least 12 years relevant experience acquired within the Transportation or IT industries. Masters Degree highly preferred. Previous experience in transportation operations environment highly preferred. Must have experience in business planning and general management, including service/system/program management and the demonstrated ability to take ownership of a particular solution offering, thereby shaping, designing, and planning specific service lines in the solution area. Must have proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners and suppliers (internal and external). Experience with complex RFPs. Excellent stakeholder management experience (internal and external). Expert knowledge of the public transportation/IT outsourcing sector. Excellent organization and time management skills. Must be an accomplished communicator, both written and oral and have excellent presentation skills. Must have excellent business acumen, analytical, negotiation, and strategy development skills. Financial skills highly desirable. Must be self-motivated, creative and have the ability to work closely in a team environment with other departments and individuals at all levels in the organization. Ability to make substantial decisions in line with agreed strategy without supervision. Must also have the ability to work off hours as needed, in-line with customer requirements. Positive attitude with the ability to embrace change. Travel required, both domestic and internationally and sometimes for extended periods of time.
