Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Marketing & Communications. The VP of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of marketing and public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. This individual will be an ambassador for the organization and will need to build relationships with the media to manage all activities in communications, media relations, community relations and public relations, marketing, including advertising, promotional materials and targeted programs.

This position’s responsibilities include:
  • Directs and sets departmental communication, media plans and marketing plans and procedures to goals and objectives to ensure goal achievement. Develops long- term communication strategies for ridership improvement and public relations. Develops, shapes and disseminates the agency’s messages to a variety of audiences using different approaches.

  • Oversees the EasyRide Program to give transit benefits to Fort Worth businesses and its employees to help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.

  • Directs staff on coordinating public events to promote transit service. Oversees the planning and development of fact sheets, scripts, posters, and other promotional materials to ensure that they are consistent with program goals. Monitors the preparation of newsletter, brochures, and FWTA websites.

  • Manages the selection for services of outside consultants, advertising agencies, photographers, videographers, printers, and other freelancers; coordinates work contracted with these consultants and ensures quality service.

  • Manages and oversees public relations events and communication planning of the Trinity Metro’s participation in special events, such as Main Street, Veterans Day Parade, Parade of Lights, Open Streets and other community events.

  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization, working with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external marketing and communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.

  • Prepares reports and makes presentations for senior management and to the Board of Directors. Coordinates media updates and other communications information for monthly POM Committee report.

  • Prepares complex reports, documents and correspondence.

  • Participates in Trinity Metro’s community activities to promote transit on off duty hours.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information.

  • Reliable and consistent attendance.


EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field is required, advanced degree is preferred.

Any combination of experience, training and/or education that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills may substitute for the required education.

EXPERIENCE
Five to ten years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, and public relations. Experience promoting non-profit or public agency service would be helpful. Proficiency with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
