Get on board with CTtransit! CTtransit is seeking a Director of Information Technology with a passion for leadership in determining all technology and communication initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, well-organized, have strong management leadership experience and the ability to quickly learn industry specific software such as Trapeze. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for establishing and directing day-to-day and long-term goals, policies and procedures for CTtransit’s local and wide area networks and application systems. This position provides leadership in determining all technological and communication initiatives. As part of the executive management team this position will work with management and personnel on Information Technology and System strategy and planning. The position will also provide support and maintenance of existing infrastructure, applications, and will oversee the planning for all new systems to determine the most effective platform, software and operating environments where business applications can be maximized.
CTtransit is the brand name of the eight bus transit systems owned by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and operated by various contractors. HNS Management Company operates the Hartford, New Haven, and Stamford Divisions of CTtransit, and, in 2015 assumed responsibility for operating most of the service on CTfastrak, the State-owned bus rapid transit line serving Central Connecticut. We are the second largest public transit system in New England with a total fleet of over 450 buses and over 27 million annual customers. HNS employs over 1,200 bus operators, maintenance employees, and administrative personnel, and administers an annual operating budget of over $140 million. HNS management reports to the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Public Transportation.
