Job Purpose

Working as part of project teams, you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of asset management policies, strategies, processes and improvements in relation to our clients’ needs for the relevant asset systems, including track, communications, traction power, and train control systems.

Key Accountabilities

Technical

1. Support Team Lead with understanding client requirements and translating them into workable project plans in a railroad, subway/metro, light rail environment.

2. Work as part of consulting team focused on the development and the operation and management of asset management systems.

3. Assist with the identification and definition of asset management policies, strategies and processes which are required for consulting projects.

4. Maintain technical delivery tasks in the field of asset management and maintenance of rail transit/railroad infrastructure and associated plant, equipment and systems in accordance with relevant industry standards.

5. Support the development and maintenance of outstanding client relationships.

6. Assist with planning maintenance tasks to ensure proper staff allocation.

7. Participate in the development of proposals in response to Request for Proposals and supply technical content.

Development of Network Rail Experience

8. Periodically travel to the UK to spend time embedded in Network Rail work teams.

9. Train in Network Rail strategies, approaches, and practices and apply learning to North American project responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators

• Delivering consulting projects within budget and on schedule

• Positive client feedback on quality and timeliness of work performed

• Demonstrated application of Network Rail practices in North American assignments

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

• Experience in railroad asset management and maintenance.

• Basic understanding of asset management strategies.

• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant engineering standards and processes.

• Experience with asset management information systems.

• Experienced in developing, implementing and managing systems and processes resulting in the safe, effective and efficient infrastructure operation.

• Experience in the design and construction of railway renewals and enhancement projects nationally and/or internationally.

• Commercial and political judgement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

• Sense of humor.

Desirable

• Experience managing project budgets

• Membership in a relevant professional body

• Achievement of PE certification

• Experience in a consulting environment

• Knowledge/experience of working in the US railroad industry

• Knowledge of Federal Transit Authority (FTA) Transit Asset Management (TAMS) projects.
