Metro Transit’s new Communications Workgroup

King County Metro Transit is currently building a Communications workgroup as we are expanding our services and at the same time moving towards transformation to a department-level agency. This workgroup's mission will be leading strategic communications, public information, public affairs, public engagement, and government relations. This workgroup is dedicated to developing and maintaining relationships and working cooperatively with our media, stakeholders, and diverse communities to evolve and build our transportation services to connect the diverse people of King County and the region with Metro's services, including bus, rail, paratransit, vanpool as well as new mobility options.

Senior Communications & Public Engagement Planner IV (RapidRide)

Looking for a seasoned communications expert skilled in public affairs programs requiring strategic communications and public engagement. The role will advance inclusive outreach and involvement programs that increase public participation, influence decision-making, and ensure the diverse voices of King County's marginalized populations are equitably heard and considered.

Community Relations/Public Engagement Planner II and III

These two fully-benefited but temporary (12 to 17 months) positions will plan and implement communications and public engagement efforts in a broad range of activities, to engage and solicit input from the public regarding Metro service and capital planning, programs, and policies. The III-level position will independently handle low to medium community relations projects, while the II-level position will handle a wide variety of professional-level coordination duties for any or all community relations projects.
