VIA Metropolitan Transit is currently seeking candidates for the position of Director of Capital and Service Planning. This position is responsible for highly complex multi-project managerial work by providing direction and guidance regarding strategic operations and planning implementation related to the Long Range Comprehensive Strategic Plan, including High Capacity Transit Corridor planning. Oversight responsibility for the preparation of annual service plans for bus, rail and paratransit services; development of the short range and five-year service plan; and coordinating and supervising special research projects and analysis of operational data for the preparation and implementation of service revisions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of transit operations. Must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning (Graduate Degree preferred), and at least 10 years of applicable work experience in transit engineering/construction, transportation planning and policy analysis. This experience must include 7 years of project management in areas of transportation, urban design and urban planning. Must be able to organize and direct the technical work of other engineers, planners, real estate staff and project management.
