Human Resources Analyst

Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District is seeking to hire two new members to join the Human Resources and Risk team in the capacity of Human Resources Analyst. The Human Resources Analyst provides on-site professional level support in planning, organizing, and achieving departmental objectives related to department functions and programs such as, but not limited to recruitment and selection, training, classification, compensation, retirement, employment and labor law, leave management, employee relations, labor relations, collective bargaining, performance evaluations, HRIS, benefits, risk management and loss control as well as risk avoidance and indemnification, and payroll.
The ideal candidate will possess experience completing Human Resources Generalist and/or Risk Management tasks for a government entity. They will be familiar with and have working knowledge of governmental related employment requirements, mandates, regulations, and processes to specifically include experience supporting or administering workers’ compensation and leave of absence programs. The successful candidate will be organized, detail oriented, and accurate in their work. They are an effective communicator and able to relay technical human resources and risk management related information to non-technical audiences.
SBMTD is a special district public transportation agency responsible for providing a comprehensive network of transit services in the southern portion of Santa Barbara County. The service area included the cities of Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria, and the communities of Montecito, Summerland, Isla Vista, and the Eastern Goleta Valley. SBMTD plays a crucial role in ensuring residents and visitors have access to reliable, safe, and environmentally-friendly transportation options to major business hubs and destination spots, Santa Barbara Community College and the University of California at Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara airport and train stations, as well as medical facilities and hospitals.
