Job Purpose: To provide excellent management and maintenance skills to Brookville's Detroit-based team at M-1 RAIL/QLINE.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain customer relationships and confidence.
- Supervises, coaches, and manages all streetcar Maintenance Technicians.
- Act as a central point of contact to ensure clear communication between M-1 RAIL and Brookville team.
- Ensure that requests are handled professionally, following up as appropriate and referred to management as necessary.
- Ensures that all streetcars and related equipment is maintained following manufacturers recommended specifications.
- Leads the streetcar condition assessment for the Transit Asset Management Plan and implements plan recommendations.
- Ensures all reports and forms associated with streetcar inspections and repairs are completed and logged and that car books are kept current.
- Operate streetcar on as-needed basis.
- Provides QA/QC for the streetcar maintenance activities.
- Assist with the creation of maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create and administer training as needed to Maintenance Technicians.
- Perform hazard analysis for streetcars and related equipment.
- Support incident, occurrence and accident investigations and act as a lead in all those that involve a streetcar.
- Resolve streetcar maintenance hazards by developing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) with the GM and Chief Safety Officer.
- Provides weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports to the GM.
- Assist in the development of the 5-year maintenance plan.
- Responsible for streetcar parts inventory, ensure inventory control procedures are met and part inventory levels are maintained.
- Oversee all streetcar warranties for parts and equipment.
- Other functions as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; will consider experience in lieu of education.
- At least 3 to 5 years of management and supervisory experience in a rail transit operation or similar experience
- Evaluating and resolving highly complex maintenance engineering problems
- Developing and monitoring budgets
- Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions and implementing recommendations
- Clear communication and ability to cultivate a strong and dedicated team
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret and explain regulations to others
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
