Mobility Services Planner

The position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the development of new and improved mobility services, and coordination among various service types, including micromobility devices such as e-scooters and e-bikes, Transportation Demand Management (TDM), as well as other emerging Mobility-As-A-Service (MaaS) offerings, to provide a family of connected services designed to enhance mobility for traditionally underserved communities such as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), low-income and low-wealth individuals, and those with limited vehicle access such as residents of zero-car households.

These mobility services will leverage the City of Durham’s substantial investment in fixed route transit services, providing more frequency and span of service, and responding to emerging travel demands and changing land-uses. Of particular concern will be first- and last-mile barriers to accessing fixed route transit services and using MaaS tools to address these needs through coordinated and customer-friendly integration of services.
