The AGM/Assistant Director will oversee the day to day aspects of the mobility services and transit system to include operations, administration, facility and fleet maintenance, and other functions as deemed necessary. Under the direction of the MMT Director and appropriate City Staff, also oversees project management activities of departmental capital projects in development status.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the daily operations of the overall mobility services and transit system services are in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines.

  • Administers employee disciplinary policies and evaluates employee performance.

  • Administers employee relations and development. Ensures customer satisfaction and compliance with contract.

  • Represents the Multimodal Transportation Director at meetings and functions in his/her absence to include City Commission presentations.

  • Reviews, evaluates, and develops operating policies and procedures manuals for Operational adherence and compliance.

  • Performs data analysis of monthly reports and departmental audits to evaluate Operational activities for both the transit services and mobility services to include: vehicle on time statistics, missed runs, revenue/cost data, customer compliant data, total work hours, total pay hours, bicycle and pedestrian needs, and other operations related functions.

  • Assist in the preparation of departmental presentations, solicitations, RFP’s, purchase orders, financial reports, departmental contracts and government documents.

  • Assist with the preparation of departmental budget, budget development and all financial records and purchases.

  • Ensures program and project oversight as needed by the department.

  • Oversight of EiOS Environmental Management and FTA /TxDOT Transit Asset Management for compliance.

  • Any other related duties as assigned by the MMT Director.

Experience & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum five (5) years of multimodal transportation experience to include transit, bicycle, micro-mobility with increasing responsibilities.

  • Must have knowledge of transit and bicycle operations, maintenance, and administration.

  • Must have knowledge of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements and guidelines.

  • Must have good communication skills.
