The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) has an opportunity for an experienced; team oriented and energetic Director of Diversity and Inclusion. As an integral part of TARC’s management team, this position is responsible for all activities related to the creation and sustainability of Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, ADA, Affirmative Action, EEO, Title VI, Limited English Proficiency and Environmental Justice programs across the Authority. Supports the establishment of and recommends policies and procedures or changes to ensure that TARC meets all of its business goals and objectives surrounding Diversity and Inclusion. Serves as a liaison to federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Will be responsible for preparing federal and state regulatory reports, periodic progress reports and provide data and other statistical information.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or Public Administration with 3-5 years verifiable professional experience or any combination of experience, education, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the work. Experience in Diversity & Inclusion programs, including investigating complaints, preparing state and federal documentation and conducting training is required, preferably in a government or transportation arena. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations related to Civil Rights programs. Experience working with diverse groups and possess strong interpersonal listening and communication skills. Perceived fairness, tolerance, honest and consistent in application of policies and procedures relative to ethics and integrity with ability to mediate and use other techniques to resolve conflicts. Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required. Salary commensurate with demonstrated experience, education, and ability.
