Position Summary
The Public Transportation Division is seeking a highly qualified ADA Transit Service Program Coordinator. The position has the primary responsibility of oversight and direction for the City's ADA paratransit eligibility program provided by the Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA).

Specifically, this position serves as the subject matter expert on the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit eligibility practices and procedures for the City's ADA paratransit program known as the Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) for the Greensboro Department of Transportation's Public Transportation Division. In addition, the position participates with other transit staff and contracted operational personnel to ensure ADA compliance. The position is responsible for oversight and maintenance of rider data housed in the City's Trapeze scheduling software system. This data includes rider demographics and other operational data used to track eligibility as well as other critical data used by division to develop analytical reports or other statistical data.

The position is also responsible for ensuring that the office remains within compliance relating to the scheduling of the required in person eligibility interview appointments and file maintenance. This position serves as the primary staff support to the Specialized Transportation Advisory Committee (STAC) as well as other critical community agencies whereby patrons are served by the SCAT service.

Other duties include: Serving as City staff representation at monthly Rider Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings; coordination of the Greensboro Transit Authority's Travel Training Program for Persons with Disabilities who desire to learn how to utilized the accessible Fixed Route (regular) bus service; coordinating in a timely and effective manner the preparation of STAC agendas and meeting minutes; coordination of the preparation and facilitation of meetings and/or appeal hearings as they relate to SCAT eligibility denials or rider violations of Greensboro Transit Authority Board adopted policies and procedures, and preparing written analysis and responses relating to critical issues leading to a resolution of the matter; preparing written analysis of passenger eligibility data; suggesting recommendations regarding critical service and/or policy issues relating to ADA eligibility for streamlining current procedures and/or practices to ensure that the interview process is conducted in the most efficient and effective manner.

This position is Non-Exempt, and work hours are scheduled to be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
