Job Purpose
Working as part of an Operations & Maintenance improvement team; provide subject matter expertise in the delivery of a daily train plan within a control center as well as managing disruption. In addition provide expertise in the management of incidents within a control center and on site.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Provide subject matter expertise in safe delivery of the daily train plan during normal operations and disruptive events, and in the management of short-term planning activity.

  2. Provide subject matter expertise in; contingency planning, incident response and incident management.

  3. Lead change initiatives to improve client’s service delivery and incident response management.

  4. Manage the development and application of contingency plans in times of disruption, to minimise delays and cancellations to customers.

  5. Lead incident reviews giving appropriate consideration to customer needs.

  6. Lead the development of process integration within the control environment, to develop more effective approaches to management of the train plan, incidents and provision of customer information.

  7. Contribute to development and maintenance of up to date operational and safety policies and procedures, relating to train service delivery, control of operations and control personnel.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of leading teams within a control, logistics or operations environment

  • Experience of strategic decision-making

  • Good negotiating skills and ability to make objective decisions

  • Able to manage conflict, influence others and work under pressure

  • Knowledge of Train Operator performance regime and targets

  • Understanding of operational rules and regulations

  • Knowledge of subway operations
