Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is seeking a talented Light Rail Maintenance Instructor to add to its team.
Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Instructor - LR trains and supervises maintenance personnel in the proper service, repair and maintenance of light rail vehicles and related vehicle systems, use and maintenance of vehicle test equipment, shop tools, and equipment; coordinates vendor and on-the job training; and develops and delivers professional training plans, course materials and curricula.
Minimum Qualifications:
Sufficient training, education, and experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the above tasks and the possession of the following knowledge and abilities.
One year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Development of the required skills, knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through training, education and experience equivalent to five (5) years as a journey-level mechanic or technician working with catenary, sub-station, signals, track maintenance, and/or light rail vehicle repair or five (5) years teaching light rail maintenance, electronics, or mechanical skill areas.
Possession of a valid California driver's license and the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class B license.
