What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Assistant General Manager of Operations will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations. This will include supporting the planning, scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring for quality assurance for our Austin locations. The Assistant General Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations leadership and act as an internal liaison in conjunction with the General Manager between departments and the client to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Assistant General Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide daily guidance and coaching for direct reports; monitor performance

  • Provide contract oversight and facilitation of Client needs with anticipation of growth

  • Ensure most appropriate and cost effective transportation services are provided

  • Continually analyze program needs and productivity and propose potential adjustments to staffing and resources to ensure cost effectiveness

  • Address any questions / concerns regarding site transit program

  • Maintain general knowledge of contract and awareness of changes

  • Identifying potential risk and develop resolution processes

  • Act as a liaison between MTM Transit and the Client to address any concerns or issues that may arise and do so in a timely manner

  • Assist and monitor employee training and development

  • Assist with the continuing development of a relationship with the Client to ensure exceptional customer service needs and problem resolution processes are in place

  • Thorough understanding of MTM Transit policies and employee handbook guidelines

  • Provide education and information to the Client regarding MTM Transit procedures, services available and changes within the Para-Transit industry

  • Maintain a “Safety First” attitude with the Client and personnel

  • Maintain knowledge of local climate needs and issues pertaining to the passenger transportation industry

  • Thorough understanding of ridership policies to ensure smooth transportation services

  • Assist with oversight and maintaining all employee and vehicle files in accordance with FTA and DOT guidelines

  • Assist with the oversight and maintain thorough knowledge of MTM Transit departments and compliance programs within each location

  • Ensures strong internal customer service between Operations and other departments

  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required

What You’ll need:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field

  • At least 6 years’ experience managing in the Para-Transit industry, 7 years preferred

  • At least 4 years’ experience managing a union environment

  • At least 3 years’ experience supervising and monitoring the delivery of contractual services

  • Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting

  • Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations

  • Prior contract and or project management experience preferred

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Extensive knowledge of budget and cost analysis

  • Ability to evaluate and resolve problems/issues in a constructive manner

  • Moderate to advanced computer skills

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Extensive knowledge of how to establish key processes and procedures

Salary Range:
Min Wage: $100,000
Max Wage: $140,000
